As the sun of day set, the sun of night crept up from the horizon, dimly illuminating the gorge. The only sound heard by the [GCSI] Night Watch was of the flow of the river that had carved this mighty landmark. Unaware that [22ME] had set its sights on Europe; the Night Watch was at ease in this backwater theatre of Conflict. Unknown to them, an entire squadron of [22ME] Wraith bombers were on their way to wreck havoc on this unprepared outpost; a preemptive to the land invasion force on stand by in the mountains surrounding the gorge.
Daylight was briefly reawakened as missiles struck their targets surrounding the [GCSI] compound. The Wraiths had found their target, and crippled the outer perimeter defenses. Static overran the security cams and the vital Communication Array was reduced to rubble by a well-aimed missile; the outpost was alone in the dark. [GCSI] General Dogbite, unable to call for reinforcements, gathered the men he had a prepared to hold his base at all costs; for this airway was the gateway to the heart Europe, Berlin.
Close quarters combat began as [22ME] units engaged the holed-up [GCSI] troops. Although [GCSI] put up a grand fight, they were eventually overwhelmed against the odds and capitulated. [GCSI] High Command was able to evacuate via watercraft to the nearby city of Genoa. [22ME] had secured a bridgehead to the center of Europe. Transports landed to carry off the wounded and prepare for the next assault in the European theatre, the Siege of Berlin.
[GCSI] had more time to mobilize its units in Berlin, aware of the inevitable invasion. However, they were unaware of the scale of units [22ME] had dedicated to this assault. [22ME] transports began to touch down by the dozen, releasing the Hounds upon the city’s defenses.
Structures were torn apart as [22ME] units moved in toward the Reichstag, were they would clench Germany’s heart in their grasp and twist the country into submission. As [GCSI] units fell back from outer perimeters, they were slowly pushed back toward the Reichstag. Once Russian infantry had surrounded the remaining [GCSI] units, [GCSI] relented it hold on Germany, and thus commenced the Fall of Berlin.
With the fall of Germany, [22ME] has robbed more resources from the hands of the [GCSI]. Precious war factories are now in the hands of [22ME].

With victory fresh on their hands, the [22ME] started a final offensive against [GCSI] to push them out of Africa and claim the remaining oil reserves. In the middle of this goldmine is the heart that pumps out the most oil per barrel in the world, Taraba Quarry. Recently under [GCSI] control, the legendary pits were providing General Dogbite’s army with much needed fuel to beat back the [22ME] offensive.
[22ME] Wraith bombers and Aurora fighter escorts powered up their engines as they started a preemptive air raid on the quarry. As the confident pilots approached their targets, a scrambled [GCSI] Aurora squadron, commanded by Captain Darktimes, clashed in the sky, devastating the [22ME] aircraft. The bombing run had failed, so [22ME] had to rely on ground AA and their remaining Auroras to overcome the [GCSI] terror in the skies.
No sooner did the action in the skies above Taraba Quarry cease, the [22ME] ground assault appeared on the ridges to the west of the quarry. Vanguard AAVs tore open the skies in which [GCSI] fighter pilots occupied, and [22ME] rushed [GCSI] defenses at the quarry. Although [GCSI] had a formidable defense, [22ME] quickly overran the perimeter and the remaining forces in the quarry were forced to capitulate.
With Taraba Quarry in [22ME] hands, General thegreenslime turned his sights to the nearby city of Cerbere, the processing stronghold of the quarry’s precious black gold. [22ME] commandos broke through the city's defenses, employing a form of Blitzkrieg not seen since the Second Great War. Not hearing of the fall of the quarry, [GCSI] troops in the city were unaware of the impending attack. Caught off guard, [GCSI] lost the city with minimal loses to the [22ME] commando unit. With the city in [22ME] hands, the army now has means to fuel their armor for the remainder of the war.

[22ME] lost ground at El Alamein, and has regrouped in a nearby area in Northern Africa. [GCSI] troops began to march west through Africa, hoping to claim its precious oil reserves for their own. Lieutenant Colonel C6dy of [22ME] took his mechanized division into a narrow pass to lay an ambush on the [GCSI] advance moving out to Warlord City. Snipers and Heavy Weapons Specialists were placed on the ridges above the narrow pathway the [GCSI] troops were traversing through. Russian Doragons were on stand-by, awaiting the Lt.Col’s orders to begin the sneak attack. [GCSI] armor and infantry began pouring through the canyon, unaware of the imminent attack from above.
Drives started up and Russian Doragons were on there way for their first of several bombing runs on the oblivious [GCSI] troops. As Lt.Col. C6dy gave the order, sniper fire and explosives rained down on the unsuspecting [GCSI] troops. [GCSI] officers began pinpointing points along the ridge to return fire and soon it was an all out firefight. [22ME] bodies plummeted to the ground as [GCSI] tanks blew them off the ridge. However, [22ME]’s high ground was more favorable, and [GCSI] was forced to either retreat back the way they came or make a charge on Warlord.
Reminiscent of 'Picket’s Charge' in the great American Civil War, [GCSI] armor and infantry charged the city; artillery, bullets, and rockets raining down on their heads. Although [GCSI] sustained substantial loses in their charge, several units reached the city, gaining immediate cover from [22ME] artillery. However, [22ME] was hot on their tails with an entire garrison of infantry to throw at the exhausted [GCSI] troops. General Dragon93 led the invasion force on Warlord City.
[22ME] High Command set up an impromptu command station on the outskirts of the city as their companies began the brawl in the streets, securing the Plaza and the Palace. As the General and Lieutenant General of [22ME] worked furiously to organize the assault, [GCSI] set up their stronghold to hold their newly acquired city, and were prepared to defend it to the last.
Crack shot 1st Lieutenant Tholozor gazed through the scope of his Zeller Advanced Sniper Rifle, carefully examining the outpost [22ME] had set up in the rear of their formation, clearly containing high ranking officials. The 1st Lieutenant lined up his shot and exhaled….
Lieutenant General thegreenslime turned around to hand his report of the cities defenses to General Dragon93. As his eyes met the General’s, a bullet pierced the Dragon’s neck, sending him to the ground in a heap. The Lieutenant General hit the deck and yelled, “Take cover! Sniper fire from the north! Get a medic! The General has been shot! WE NEED A MEDIC!!!” General Dragon93 lay with his Lieutenant General next to him, in excruciating pain. He gasped, “Take... the city…. Don’t… let this be… in vain.” Then the pain stopped forever.
[22ME] troops moved heavy on the city, under the direction of General thegreenslime, slaughtering all that stood in their way. As they reached [GCSI]’s stronghold, ammunition began to run low, giving higher casualties to the [22ME] against the last concentrated group of [GCSI] soldiers. The Hounds of Taganrog were the first to run out of ammunition, and began a desperate charge on the [GCSI], armed only with defibrillators. The company, with the death of their General on their minds, charged into the outpost, sending every last [GCSI] soldier in there into a convulsive fate.
As [22ME] troops cleared the city and reported in, they looked up at the setting sun, knowing they had won this battle, but at a heavy cost. Today marked a victory for the Russian 22nd Mechanized Corps, but also a loss of a fearless leader.
Will [22ME] use this victory and push [GCSI] back out of Africa, claiming its massive oil reserves? Will [GCSI] rebound their conquest of Africa after this set-back and fuel their army with the black gold? You decide!
